Northern Railway operated 1125 trains during Mahakumbh 2025
During Mahakumbh 2025, 64 unannounced trains & 66 special trains from Delhi Area
Mahakumbh 2025 concluded successfully yesterday. During Mahakumbh 2025, Indian Railways significantly exceeded its initial operational plan. A total of 17,152 trains were run, surpassing the originally planned 13, 000 trains for Mahakumbh pilgrims. During Mahakumbh 2025, Northern Railway made extensive efforts by running special trains to provide convenient travel to the pilgrims.Recognizing the scale and significance of this grand religious gathering, Northern Railway operated 1125 trains which included 64 unannounced trains & 66 special trains besides regular trains from Delhi Area.
Shri Ashok Kumar Verma, General Manager, Northern Railway has lauded the efforts of the frontline staff, supervisors and officers for their coordination between different departments and reaffirmed Northern Railway’s commitment in facilitating safe, efficient and comfortable travel to the common people.
