Railway Protection Force, Delhi Division - Operation Nanhe Farishte

Today Indian Railways is going through a phase of modernization and change in the twenty-first century. In this phase, RPF is fulfilling the responsibility of safety and security of railway property as well as railway passengers and passenger luggage with honesty and responsibility. In the Indian Railways going through a phase of change and modernization, various challenges related to different types of crimes and situations are also coming up. RPF team of Delhi Division is running different types of operations to face all such challenges, out of which "Operation Nanhe Farishte" is one of the most important operations.

Under "Operation Nanhe Farishte" being run by RPF, children found in distress or suspicious circumstances in railway premises and trains are rescued. The main objective of "Operation Nanhe Farishte" is to actively identify children found in distress or suspicious circumstances in railway premises and trains and save them from child labour, trafficking or other types of exploitation. When RPF force members rescue a child from such circumstances, he/she is handed over to the District Child Welfare Committee or an NGO working in this area, who hand over the child to his/her parents.

RPF/Delhi Division has rescued 5200 minor children found in distress or suspicious circumstances from the year 2021 to June-2025. The rescued children include children who had run away from home, were missing, got separated or were facing threats like child labour or trafficking.
