Delhi Sarai Rohilla Railway Station undergoes Major Upgradation


                           
Delhi Division of Northern Railway is constantly endeavouring to upgrade its rail infrastructure and has completed  a significant modernization project at Delhi Sarai Rohilla railway station. Delhi Sarai Rohila is an important station of Delhi area from where daily about 104 trains originate/pass (Important trains are Double Decker to Jaipur, Duronto Express to Jammu Tawi, Duronto Express to Yeshwantpur, Chetak Express to Udaipur, Ajmer Janshatabdi, etc). Delhi Sarai Rohilla railway station has an approx. daily footfall of 30,200 passengers. Delhi Sarai Rohilla Railway station is now better equipped to handle train operations. The upgradation work took place from 21.7.2025 to 28.7.2025. The estimated cost of this major upgradation project is approx. Rs. 25 crores.                        
                 
The Yard remodeling work (Non Interlocking Work) was a challenging task. The Delhi Sarai Rohilla yard remodelling project focused o­n ensuring smoother operations, Increased Capacity, safety, improved connectivity and operational efficiency. o­ne additional Loop line and two additional stabling lines have been provided which would increase capacity and will increase capacity of station to operate more trains. Shunting of trains will be more convenient. The old interlocking system has been replaced with distributed electronic interlocking for improved safety and connectivity apart from increasing operational efficiency. The track layout has been modernized i.e. four turnouts and nine traps were inserted. About 300 Railway Officers/Employees and Contractual staff were involved in this upgradation work. Six JCBs and 4 Hydras were put into service. The Railway team worked day and night to make the remodeling work a success and completed the work as per the planned block period.
