
Hon'ble Prime Minister in his speech on 15th of August 2021 at Red Fort declared that 14th of August to be observed as "Partition Horrors Remembrance Day".On the eve when the nation completes 78 years of Independence, the Partition Horrors Remembrance Day is being observed throughout the country.
The Partition Horrors Remembrance Day has been envisaged to bring to light the agony, suffering and pain of millions of people who were the sufferers of partition. It is to remind the country of the largest displacement of human population in the last century, which also claimed the lives of a large number of people.
To showcase the sufferings of the partition affected people, an exhibition has been curated by the Ministry Of Culture. The exhibition has been displayed at 18 railway stations of Delhi Division i.e. New Delhi, Old Delhi, Anand Vihar Terminal, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Ghaziabad, MeerutCity, Muzaffarnagar, Baghpat, Faridabad, Palwal, Sonipat, Panipat, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Jhajjar, Jind, Delhi Cantt. andTohana. Patriotic songs were played during the exhibition.Sh. Pushpesh Raman Tripathi, Divisional Railway Manager, Delhi and Senior officers of Delhi Divisionvisited the exhibition at New Delhi Railway station.
