Swachhata Hi Seva” campaign being organised on Railways from September 17th to October 1st, 2024

          “Swachhata Hi Seva” Campaign is being organized o­n the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi's birthday o­n 2nd October, to make his dream come true and to fulfill his commitment to cleanliness. o­n the Indian Railways this year from 17th September to 1st October “Swachhata Hi Seva” campaign is being organized o­n the theme of ‘Swabhav Swachhata-Sanskar Swachhata”. Many events are being organized to create awareness as part of this campaign.

         Today, Shri Anil Kumar Khandelwal Member Infrastructure, Railway Board flagged off Walkathon at State Entry Road, New Delhi. Officers and staff participated enthusiastically in the walkathon o­n State Entry Road, Connaught Place Inner Circle and Back. Shri Shobhan Chaudhuri, General Manager Northern Railway, Shri A.K. Singhal, Additional General Manager, NR, Shri Sukhvinder Singh, DRM Delhi and Officers and Staff of Railway Board and Northern Railway also participated  on this occasion.

                 As part of the campaign, a Human Chain was also formed under the leadership of Member Infrastructure, in which about 500 officers and staff of Railway Board and Northern Railway participated. These programmes i.e. Walkathon and formation of a Human Chain were organized as a part of the “Swachhata Hi Seva”campaign to create awareness amongst citizens to keep their surrounding clean.
