"Swachhata Pakhwada” campaign being organised on Railways
from 1st October to 15th October 2024.
“Swachhata Pakhwada” Campaign is being organized from 1st October to 15th October to commemorate Mahatma Gandhi's birthday on 2nd October, to make his dream come true and to fulfill his commitment to cleanliness.
To avoid the use of plastic, regular announcements are being made on the public address system at railway stations. Segregation of waste was encouraged by setting up of separate Green and Blue colour dustbins. All efforts were made to ensure that platform at important stations to be "zero waste" i.e. litter-free. Cleaning of drains & toilet was done and it was ensured that plastic thrown does not choke drains or water outlets. An Intensive cleanliness drive was organized at Railway Stations. It was ensured that Solar Power equipment were functional, wherever installed.
