“Swachhata Hi Seva” campaign in Indian Railways was organized 17th September to 1st October 2024 with the theme of “Swabhav Swachhta – Sanskar Swachhata”
“Swachhta Hi Seva” campaign was organized from 17th September 2024 to 01stOctober 2024 with the theme of “Swabhav Swachhta – Sanskar Swachhata” in Delhi Division Northern Railway. “Swachhata Pakhwada -2024” campaign was organized by Delhi Division from 1st October 2024 to 15th October 2024.Swachhta Hi Seva - 2024 campaign was launched in Delhi Division on 17th September’ 2024 at New Delhi Station by Shri Satish Kumar, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Railway Board.
⮚Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Railway Board, Shri Satish Kumar started the program by administering the cleanliness oath to the employees and passengers. After this, Safai Mitras who had done excellent work in cleanliness and hygiene were honored.On this occasion, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Railway Board, other Members of Railway Board, General Manager, Northern Railway, Divisional Railway Manager Delhi and officers of Northern Railway participated in Shramdaan and planted saplings. on this occasion, employees and passengers were made aware of cleanliness through Nukkad Natak at New Delhi Railway station.
⮚A Walkathon was flagged off by General Manager Northern Railway on 19.9.2024 from State Entry Road to Connaught Place Inner Circle and back as well as Human Chain formation at State Entry Road New Delhi.
⮚This campaign was run at a total of 65 stations in the Delhi Division. During this campaign, cleanliness oath was administered to 16,225 employees and Passengers and the employees and passengers were made aware through Nukkad Natak at 12 places.
⮚During this campaign, 6438 people participated and 7290 saplings were planted under “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign. A total of 966 Cleanliness Target Units (CTUs) were identified and intensively cleaned. In this campaign, 11,225 employees, Passengers and other social organizations participated.In this campaign. 4,24,4016 square meter area was cleaned and a total of 1.2 tonnes of garbage was removed.
⮚Garbage was collected and cleaned from a total of 69 kilometers of track. This cleaning campaign was conducted in 25 trains and 11 railway colonies.
“Swachhta Pakhwada” is being organized in Delhi Division from 01stOctober 2024 to 15th October 2024. “Swachhta Pakhwada” was launched in Delhi Division on 01stOctober 2024 by Shri Sukhvinder Singh, Divisional Railway Manager by administering the cleanliness oath to the employees. Cleanliness oath was administered to the employees and passengers by Station Directors and other officers at Major Stations, sheds and other stations of Delhi division.
⮚02nd October Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated as “Swachh Bharat Diwas” in Delhi Division. Many awareness programs were organized on this day. Nukkad Natak were organized at various places at the stations to make the employees and passengers aware about cleanliness. Shri Ashok Kumar Verma, General Manager Northern Railway inspected the mechanized cleaning equipment at New Delhi station and honored the “Safai Mitras” who had done excellent work in Cleaning and Sanitation. Conversion of the spot identified by the General Manager into a cleanliness targeted unit at the Ajmeri Gate side exit.
⮚Under “Swachhta Pakhwada” Campaign in Delhi Division, intensive cleaning campaign was conducted on 03rdand 04th October at major stations and other stations respectively.
⮚On 05th October and 06th October Under the “Swachh Train” Campaign an intensive cleaning campaign was conducted in the trains. Feedback was taken from the passengers by the On Board Housekeeping Service (OBHS) staff. Utensils in the Pantry Car of the trains were thoroughly cleaned, quality and proper storage of food items was checked and medical examination of the Pantry Car employees was observed.
⮚On 07th October, under the “Clean Tracks” campaign, an intensive cleaning drive was conducted at the sites and tracks around the station. Contribution of social organizations and self-help groups was taken for this campaign.
⮚On 08th October, under “Clean Parisar””, intensive cleaning drive at railway colonies, waiting rooms, rest rooms, dormitories and running rooms was conducted.
⮚On 9th October and 10th October, under the “Clean Ahar” campaign intensive cleaning drive was conducted in canteens and food stalls. During this, food items and medical checkup certificates of food vendors were checked at the stations.Availability of separate dustbins for dry and wet waste was checked. Passengers and food vendors were made aware about garbage segregation.
⮚On 11th October, under “Swachh Neer” campaign, the quality of drinking water was checked at stations. Drinking water taps at stations were cleaned. Intensive cleaning of water resources was done in Railway Colonies, Railway Hospitals, Schools.
⮚On 12th October, under the “Clean Toilets and Clean Environment” campaign, thorough cleaning of all the toilets located at stations, coaching depots, trains, hospitals, workplaces and surrounding areas was carried out.
⮚On 13th October, under “Swachh Competition” campaign, efforts were made to create a spirit of healthy competition for cleanliness and appreciation letters were given to those units which worked regularly/throughout the year for cleanliness. Supervisors/employees working on cleaning activities were also felicitated.
⮚On 14th October, under the “No to Single Use Plastic” campaign, awareness drive were conducted among the residents of railway colonies and passengers at railway stations to stop the use of single use plastic. The plastic waste generated at the stations was assessed.
⮚Today on 15th October, under “Clean Awareness Rally” campaign, garbage was collected from passengers during signature campaign and pick up and run campaign.
