Shri AshokKumar Verma, General Manager, Northern Railway, today convened a performance review meeting with the departmental heads of Northern Railway and DRMs at Baroda House. Deliberations were held on keeping focus on passenger amenities at stations for the upcoming festival season. In this review meeting, he emphasized on convenient movement of railway passengers at stations, provision of 2nd entry and proper management of other facilities, clearance of additional rush during the upcoming festival season. He also reviews the arrangement of cleanliness at platforms, medical facilities, safety & security of passengers and proper supply of drinking water at platforms.
The GM emphasized the digitization in rail operations. He said that by embracing digitization, railway may enhance passenger’s experience, optimize operations, and improve overall efficiency. one of the key benefits of digitization in the railway is the ability to collect and analyze vast amounts of data in real-time, enabling predictive maintenance and proactive decision-making to prevent any disruptions and ensure the seamless functioning of railway operations.
Moreover, Sh. Verma emphasized the maintenance of railway assets is a critical aspect of ensuring smooth operations of trains and passenger comfort. He underscored the significance of regular assessments to address any potential risks and to optimize the railway network's performance.
