General Manager/Northern Railway Confers 69th Vishisht Rail Seva Puraskar 2024 to 104 Officials of Northern Railway, 54 Shields to best performing units at award function held at National Rail Museum, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi

104 employees felicitated for outstanding services at New Delhi

Delhi Division declared the best division for overall performance in all fields

 Northern Railway marked its 69th Railway Week with a grand awards ceremony held at the National Rail Museum, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi. Shri Ashok Kumar Verma, General Manager, Northern Railway presided over the Awards Distribution Ceremony held today i.e. o­n 23th January 2025 at National Rail Museum, New Delhi. Shri Mohit Chandra, Additional General Manager and all the Principal Heads of the various departments, other senior railway officials and railway employees of Northern Railway, Members of Unions Associations & Federations were present o­n the occasion.

 The ceremony started with facilitation of 104 railway employees (Officers & Staff) for their meritorious services and 54 running shields based o­n performance-oriented parameters were also presented by General Manager. Delhi Division was declared the BEST Division.  Lucknow  Division has been awarded for its Most Economical Functioning. Best improved division shield has been awarded to Moradabad Division.   

 Speaking o­n the occasion, Shri Ashok Kumar Verma lauded officers and staff for various achievements of the zone in core functional areas. He highlighted the region's growth in infrastructure and services, including the recent inauguration of the Jammu Division by the Hon'ble Prime Minister. He added, the soon-to-be-inaugurated Jammu-Udhampur-Srinagar Baramulla rail link will connect Kashmir Valley with the rest of the country, and the Narrow Gauge railway line of Kangra Valley will be operated by this division.

 GM congratulated all the recipients and their families o­n getting Awards today and also congratulated the 10 employees of Northern Railway who were awarded with the prestigious “Ati Vishist Rail Seva Puraskar” by Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Hon’ble Union Minister of Railways at Bharat Mandapam.

 Individual awards serve as a platform to acknowledge and celebrate the dedication, hard work, and exceptional contributions of Railway personnel towards making Northern Railways a more efficient, safe, and passenger-friendly Zone. Shield awards in various categories are presented recognizing the outstanding achievements and contributions to the overall performance of Northern Railway.
