Delhi Division Celebrates 100 glorious years of electric traction distribution over Indian Railway
Delhi Division proudly celebrated the completion of 100 glorious years of Electric Traction Distribution (TRD) in Indian Railway on 03.02.2025 at DRM office New Delhi. The event marked a century of progress, innovation and sustainability of railway electrification, reflecting Indian Railways' commitment to modern and environment-friendly transport.
The program was presided over by Shri Sukhvinder Singh, Divisional Railway Manager, Delhi and highlighted the remarkable journey of electric traction from its inception till date. With the completion of electrification work in Delhi Division, Delhi Division has become the division with the highest number of electrified track kilometers of Indian Railways with 3651 track KM. For this achievement, Divisional Railway Manager, Delhi, Shri Sukhvinder Singh congratulated the employees of Electric Traction Department and inspired them for excellent work with continuous safety. Additional Divisional Railway Manager and Senior Divisional Electrical Engineer/TRD were also present in the program.
On this occasion, Rangoli was made in the Divisional Railway Office and an exhibition of posters, paintings and poems made by the departmental staff related to Electric Traction Distribution (TRD) and their families was also organized. In another exhibition, past (DC traction) and present (AC traction) equipment used in ElectricTraction Distribution (TRD) was also displayed.
In the ceremony,Divisional Railway Manager, Delhi, Shri Sukhvinder Singh also gave away awards and citations to the Electric Traction Distribution employees for their exemplary contribution.
