SIGNALLING

 

1.1.Centralized Electronic Interlocking (Westrace Make) with Dual VDU at Malout station (Route 49 nos.)has been commissioned on date 07/03/2022 by replacing existing standard I interlocking with provision of 15 Nos. new Points Machines, 12 Nos. New Signals and 28 Nos. Track Circuit, IPS (M/s Statcon), ELB (M/s Global) at LC 31C (MOT)in c/w EI at Malout station along with Replacement of old & worn out Signalling in c/w upgradation of signalling gears from Std-I to Std-IIR by Electronic Interlocking at Malout station in BTI-SGNR section.

 

1.2.Electronic Interlocking commissioned on date 28.02.2022 with provision of Electronic Interlocking (Westrace make) Dual VDU at KLSX, ALL and SEQ with alteration work in DUI yard by incorporating 4 nos. points, 6 nos. DC track circuits and shifting of 3 nos. signals in c/w Doubling b/w RPJ-BTI section of Ambala Division. Brief Description of Item of above work is as under:

1.3.Centralized Electronic Interlocking (Kyosan Make) with Dual VDU at Doraha station (Route 58 nos.) has been commissioned on date 24/12/2021 by replacing existing Route Relay Interlocking with provision of 23 Nos. new Points Machines, 13 Nos. New Signals and 39 Nos. Track Circuit, UFSBI with HASSDAC in DOA-CHA section, IPS (M/s Amararaja), ELB (M/s Pragati) at LC 164A(DOA) in c/w EI at Doraha along with Replacement of old & worn out Signalling & modification and shifting of railway S&T utilities affecting DFCCIL alignment on SNL-UMB-SRE section.


1.4.Centralized Electronic Interlocking (Westrace Make) with Dual VDU at Pakki station (Route 38 nos.) has been commissioned on date 30/12/2021 by replacing existing standard I interlockingwith provision of 13 Nos. new Points Machines, 10 Nos. New Signals and 26 Nos. Track Circuit, IPS (M/s Statcon), ELB (M/s Global) at LC 40C (PKK) in c/wEI at Pakki station along with Replacement of old & worn out Signalling in c/w upgradation of signalling gears from Std-I to Std-III by Electronic Interlocking at Pakki in BTI-SGNR section.


1.5.Doubling commissioned b/w RPJ-DOC on date 17.09.2021 with provision of MACLS STD III® Electronic Interlocking (Westrace make) Dual VDU at KLI and DOC in c/w Doubling b/w RPJ-BTI section of Ambala Division. Brief Description of Item of above work is as under:

1.6.Electronic Interlocking (Westrace Make) at Balluana (BHX) station (Routes- 29 nos.) has been commissioned with STD-II® interlocking on date 03.09.2021 by replacing existing Standard-I Interlocking with provision of 06 Nos. new Points Machines, 10 Nos. new Signals and 21 Nos. Track Circuit in c/w upgradation of signalling gears from Std-I® to Std-II® by Electronic Interlocking at Balluana in BTI-SGNR section.


1.7.Electronic Interlocking (Westrace Make) at Pilakhni (PKY) station (Routes- 57 nos.) has been commissioned with STD-II® interlocking on date 13.09.2021 by replacing existing route relay interlocking  with provision of 25 Nos. new Points Machines, 13 Nos. new Signals and 41 Nos. Track Circuit in c/w upgradation of signalling gears from Std-III to Std-II® by Electronic Interlocking at Pilakhni (PKY) in SRE-UMB section.

1.8.UFSBI (Deltron Make) in UMB-MOY section commissioned on date 04.08.2021 by replacing conventional type BPAC with 3 Nos. HASSDAC (CEL make) in Dn Rear Section of IBS, 1T of UP IBS replacement track and 4T of Dn IBS replacement track. With this commissioning 6 track circuits and 24 glued joints are eliminated on curved section which were having big constraint of failures and maintenance. Apart from improving reliability with additional advantage of reduced maintenance efforts is achieved by commission of this work. 

1.9.Panel Interlocking at Kalanaur station (Route 47 nos.)has been commissioned on date 31/07/2021 by replacing existing Panel Interlocking with provision of 21 Nos. new Points Machines, 13 Nos. New Signals and 41 Nos. Track Circuit, UFSBI (Deltron make) with HASSDAC (GGTronics make) replacing BPAC with UAC in block section Kalanaur-Sarsawa and Kalanaur-Yamunanagar Jagadhri in c/wmodification and shifting of railway S&T utilities affecting DFCCIL alignment on SNL-UMB-SRE section.

1.10.Distributed Electronic Interlocking (MEDHA Make) with Dual VDU at Sirhind station (Route 163 nos.) has been commissioned on date 30/06/2021 by replacing existing Route Relay Interlocking with provision of 50 Nos. new Points Machines, 24 Nos. New Signals and 81 Nos. Track Circuit in c/w EI at Sirhind along with Replacement of old & worn out 3 Aspect colour light Auto Signalling to 4-Aspect colour light Auto Signalling on Sirhind-Sadhoogarh section with modification and shifting of railway S&T utilities affecting DFCCIL alignment on SNL-UMB-SRE section.

   1.11.Replacement of Hard Reset UAC with SSDAC:To improve safety and reliability, 4 Nos. Hard Reset A/C replaced with SSDAC of CEL Make at Line no.14, 15, 19, 20 of UMBthis year so far over Ambala division.

   1.12.Provision of Duplicate key of relay room (S&T key) in sealed glass box have been completed at 90stationswhere relay room are not manned round the clock and incorporated the HQ instruction in SWR over Ambala Division to control any fire incidences as per HQ. letter no. 256-Sig/0/40/Fire/AFDS (e-8498) dated 28.09.2021.


  1.13.Gate releasing circuits of Panel controlled LC gates as suggested by HQ letter no. 569-Sig/WD/Policy-1 dated 29.12.2021 have been provided at 22 nos. L-Xing gates over Ambala Division.

   1.14.Provision of RTU/Datalogger:To improve reliability and safety, 19 nos. LC gates provided with RTU (64/16) Efftronics make, provided this year so far over Ambala Division.

  1.15.Provision of Fire Detection andAlarm system with Datalogger:To improve reliability and safety, 9 nos. Automatic Fire Detection and Alarm system have been provided with Datalogger at PKY, KNZ, KLI, DOC, BHX, KLSX, ALL, SEQandPKK this year so far over Ambala Division.

  1.16.Provision of Automatic Fuse Changeover System:To improve reliability of power supply, 22 nos. Automatic Fuse Changeover System have been provided at DOKY, KES, SMU, KJGY, RAA, UBC, KLI, DBN, NMDA, KMNN, RH-2A, RH-3A (UMB-UBC), UMB-DOKY IBS, KES-RAA IBS, PTA, CHA, SIR, RH-1, RH-2, RH-10, RH-11 (SIR) and BSPN, this year so far over Ambala Division.

  1.17.Dual Detection:To improve the reliability of axle counters dual detection provided in 15 No. block section i.e. YJUD-KNZ, KNZ-SSW, UMB-MOY, SSW - PKY, RPJ-KLI, KLI-DOC, GDB-BHX, BHX-GNDTP, DLPC-CHMG, UHL-CHTL, RPAR-RTP, KLSX-DUI, DUI-ALL, ALL-SEQ and CHA-DOA, during the current year over Ambala Division.

  1.18.Provision of Power supply through IPS at Mid section L-Xing Gates: To improve reliability of power supply, 18 nos. IPS provided in mid-section L-Xing No. 147C (SIR-GVG), 3C,4B,1C(SIR-BSPN),147C(SIR-GVG), 163C(CHA-DOA), 3C(RPJ), 159C (CHA-DOA), A3B (LDH-GLL), 9C (GLL-QRP), 44C (MNPR-RPAR), 49C (RPAR-BARJ), 51C (RPAR-BARJ), 60C (BARJ-KART), 94C (NLDM-UHL), 33C(KRLI-MNPR),59C (KLSX-DUI) and 48C(RPAR-BARJ), during the current year over Ambala Division.

TELECOMMUNICATION

1.   VIP FUNCTIONS: Messages related to PradhanmantriGaribKalyan Ann Yojana and live innaugration by Hon’ble Prime Minister have been displayed on Video Wall, True Colour Display Boards, Plasma TVs at Chandigarh,Kalka, Shimla, Rajpura, Sirhind, bathinda, Dhuri, Saharanpur, Patiala Railway stations.

2.   Provision of CCTV surveillance system has been done at Bathinda, Patiala & Kalka Railway stations by installing 144 Nos.,41 Nos.& 85 Nos., NVRs, Cat-6 cable, Power cable, terminating cables in 9U & 42 U Racks, UPS & Live monitoring has been made functional by  installing 15 Nos.LFDs at Bathinda, 8 Nos. LFDs at Patiala, 06 Nos. LFDs at Kalka in CCTV control Room for monitoring by Security Personnel in c/w work of Provision of Integrated Security System at 28 Stations over Northern Railway. 

   3. Master – Slave gate telephone system with voice recording facility as per RDSO Spec. No. has been installed in following sections for better monitoring of voice communication between ASM & Gateman at 105 L-Xing gates.

   4. TEJAS make STMs have been installed & commissioned in UMB Power cabin, SMU-SIR & LLU/Ex to KLK & CDG to KARR sections replacing outlived FIBCOM make STMs. All the circuits working on OFC have been transferred successfully and working satisfactorily.

   5. Provision of Train Control Circuit, TPC phone, Railway Auto Telephone, Hotline between JNCV-NMDA& JNCV-KARR, Datalogger between JNCV-KARR  has been done by laying 100 Mtrs.24 Fibers OFC and dropping 4 Fibers at JNCV in FMS along with  installation of STM-1, MUX and associated wiring and WSE CNL phone, Auto telephone. Earlier only TC was working on already laid 4 Quad cable which was fully utilized upto its full capacity.

   6. 1024 Ports Digital Electronic Telephone exchange, 2 Nos. 24 ports IPDSLAM, STM-1 & PD MUX, 48 V Power Plant, MDF, MF earthing (8 Nos.) & associated wiring have been installed and commissioned in connection with work of shifting of MEMU Car shed from Saharanpur to Khanalampura Yard.

   7. 31 Nos.EC Socket has been provided on already laid 6Quad cable in GNTP-BHX & GDB-MOT Section by utilizing Departmental resources of Division in BTI-SGNR Section.

    8. Communication Facility in c/w Railway Electrification

8.1. Provision of TPC circuit & EC Socket has been done by installing WSE, CNL Phone and PSU along with fabrication & erection of EC socket post, derivation joint, earthing at SSP/DLPC in c/w Railway Electrification work in Amb Andaura-Daulatpurchowk. Also Stn.to Stn. Hotline on OFC has been provided in UHL-CHTL, CHTL-AADR, AADR-CHMG & CHMG-DLPC Block section to provide standby communication.

8.2. Provision of Telecom facilities i.e. Railnet and Railway Telephones at MEMU Carshed/KJGY by installing and commissioning one STM-1, Laying & terminating 2.5 Kms. OFC & 3.0 Kms.20 pair PIJF cable, indoor wiring for 19Nos.Railnet connections & 15 Nos. Railway Telephones has been done in c/w work of shifting of MEMU Carshed SRE to KJGY.

8.3. Installation & commissioning of newly laid OFC, STM & PD MUX has been done in Lehra Mohabhat(Ex.)-Bhuchhu-Bathinda section provided by RVNL & Shifting of TC, TPC & EC has been done from Quad cable to newly commissioned OFC system.

8.4.  03 Nos.2W (64 Kbps) circuits have been provided for HASSDAC 1 &2 & Hotline on OFC between ALL-DUI & DUI-KLSX. Four Nos. 2W & one No.4W circuit has been provided for HASSDAC 1 &2 , Hotline & UFSBI in ALL-SEQ. 05 Nos. MAPLE MUX have been installed at ALL, DUI & KLSX for ALL-SEQ, ALL-DUI, DUI-KLSX Block section for UFSBI & HASSDAC by providing 3 E-1s.

8.5.  All Telecom circuits like TC, 25 Watt VHF Sets, BSNL phone, Block circuit, L-Xing gate Telephone & UTS communication have been shifted from Old ASM Room to new ASM Room along with associated wiring, termination & power supply in newly constructed ASM Room in c/w Commissioning of New Electronic Interlocking at Alal, Balluana& Sirhind Railway stations.

8.6.  All Data logger from old RH No..34,33,32,31,30 have been shifted to New RH No. 10,11,1 & Relay Room/Sirhind. Also modified SPT Telephones in Sadhoogarh-sirhind Block section have been shifted on new Signal Post i.e. SPT-807 SIR Side & SPT 806 SDY side.

8.7. 10 Nos. Fire extinguishers have been provided in cable huts in ALL-BTI section. 

   9.  Shifting of cable in c/w LHS /DFCCIL work

9.1.  OFC equipments along with associated power supply have been shifted from old OFC cable hut to new OFC cable hut by laying & terminating 1.0 Kms.(Each) OFC & Quad cable from UP side to DN side in Kalanaur-Yamunanagar Jagadhari Block section, Pilkhani Railway station in c/w utility shifting work due to DFCCIL. Provision of all Telecom equipments i.e. Control Telephones, WSE, 25 Watt VHF set, Hot line, UFSBI & axle counter circuits has been done in new ASM Office by shifting all equipments from old station building to new station building at Doraha, Kalanaur& Pilkhani Railway stations by laying & terminating 2X50 Mtrs. 20 Pairs PIJF cable between  ASM Office & new OFC cable hut due to work of utility shifting c/w DFCCIL/EI work

9.2.  In connection with LHS work cable shifting has been done by making one number normal joint at L-Xing No.95-C Km.113/25-27 in HYA-BNN Section. Also shifting of RE main cable has been done at L-Xing 127-C in UBC-SMU section by laying 120 Mtrs.cable and preparing two numbers joints in c/w construction of LHS 6 quad cable has been shifted by laying 200 Mtrs.cable at Km 194/24-28 due to construction of LHS in lieu of L-Xing C-92 in SSW-KNZ section. 

9.3.  In KES-RAA section SSDAC of IBS were working on 4quad cable that came under DFCCIL track and new 6quad cable yet to be laid by Project unit Ambala. Insulation of existing 4quad cable was showing low and could not be repaired in such situation thus it was decided to drop ongoing OFC at Tandwal (IBS location) as existing installation was giving frequent failures. Whole installation of STM, MUX, FMS and associated power supply, MF Earthing has been completed at war footing within less than a week * and SSDAC in rear and advance section of IBS shifted on it to take the advantage of *media diversity. Also 1 no. STM-1 and 01 no. PUNCOM make MUX with 48V/120AH battery set and charger have been installed at Relay room L-Xing No. 122C for IBS Dukheri. This step will improve asset performance in this busy B route of Division.

9.4.  Shifting of RE Main cable by laying 100 Mtrs. cable has been done in c/w construction of LHS at LC 144, 133-C  inSadhugarh-Sirhind & Rajpura-Shambhu section.

9.5.  Shifting of L-Xing gate 52-C communication between ASM & Gate man has been done by laying 20 Pair derivation cable & terminating on 20 Pair DP along with one No.conventional earth electrode in CTW-KLSX Section in c/w Double line work in coordination with RVNL.

9.6.  Shifting of OFC & Quad cable, RE Main cable has been done at L-Xing 122 in LHM-PUL, L-Xing 133 in BTIC-BCU &133C in RPJ-SMU sections in connection with construction of LHS.

9.7.  Shifting of OFC & Quad cable has been done by laying 03x1400 mtrs Quad cable and 01x1400 mtrs& making joints in SRE-TPZ section in c/w utility shifting due to DFCCIL work in close coordination with Project Unit UMB Division.

9.8.  100Mtrs 50Pair PIJF Cable, 20 Pair PIJF cable & 10 pair PIJF cable has been shifted at Rajpura Station in c/w route clearance for DFCCIL work.

9.9.  Shifting of SSDAC in Sanehwal-Lallkalan&Sanehwal-Doraha section has been done from old 4 Quad cable to newly laid 6 Quad cable in Sanehwal yard for route clearance to DFCCIL.

9.10. One NJ+DJ has been made NJ and Quad cable has been made through in c/w closure of L-Xing 92-C in NLDM-UHL section.

9.11. 6 Quad cable route diversion has been done during the LHS work of LC-121 in UMB-DOKY Section by laying 225 Mtrs. 6 Quad cable.

9.12. Shifting of SCADA between TSS/Sanehwal& OFC Hut Sanehwal has been done from old RE Main cable to newly laid 6 Quad cable to improve reliability. Also 2MBPS connectivity for SCADA circuit has been provided on OFC by providing one E-1 & 48 Volt DC Power supply for E-1 Modems from OFC eqpt. Battery charger at Mandigobindgarh& Chawapail Railway stations. SCADA circuit has been upgraded by provided 2 MBPS channel in place of 64 KBPS channel at SSP/SSW & BAE to improve reliability.

9.13. Protection for SCADA circuit in UMB-LDH section, CMS at KLK Lobby working on 64 KBPS Channel & COA at SRE & KLK has been provided with automatic patching. Also protection for SCADA circuit has been provided by taking one E-1 from RCIL & installing E-1 Modems at Ambala &Bathinda for SCADA Circuit in Rajpura-Bathinda section.

9.14. Block Circuit has been shifted from old and wornout BSNL maintained Overhead line to newly laid 6 Quad cable in 09 Block sections namely Koti-Sonwara, Sonwara-Dharampur Himacha, Dharampur Himacha-KumarhattiDagshai, Kanoh-Kathleeghat, Kathleeghat-Shoghi, Shoghi-Taradevi, Taradevi-Jutogh, Jutogh-Summerhill and Summerhill -Shimla by making 48 Nos. cable joints & terminating cable on 9 Nos. DPs at ASM Office in Kanoh- Shimla section.

9.15. To give way for DFCC alignment near Kali Paltan Bridge in UMB-UBC Block section shifting of (0+17+3) RE main quad cable has been done by laying 350 Mtrs. PIJF Cable & providing 2 Nos. Jointing kits.  Also shifting of OFC has been done by laying 500 Mtrs. OFC cable and providing 2 Nos. Joint enclosures in close coordination with RCIL.

9.16. Shifting of  6 Quad cable has been done at LC gate 9C between KLI-DOC km 12/5-15,160-C & 157-C in KNN-CHA block sections due to construction of LHS by trenching & laying 12 Mtrs. GI pipe, 260 Mtrs.Quad cable & making 03 Nos. Joints. Also shifting of 24 Fiber OFC was done by laying 260 Mtrs. HDPE pipe in close coordination with RCIL staff.

9.17. All Telecom OFC equipments like STM-1, MUX, Battery Charger & 48 V Battery sets along with associated wiring have been shifted at new OFC cable hut at Ambala City. Also Shifting of TC/Main Line has been done at Dhandari Kalan by installing one card each at Sanehwal & Dhandari Kalan in FZR Division MUX thereby releasing one STM-1, MUX & power plant at Dhandari Kalan.

9.18.TMS circuit has been shifted from Goods siding to new Room on PF1 by laying 190 Mtrs. 10 pair PIJF cable and shifting Modems from old location to new location along with associated wiring at Dhuri & Kilaraipur Railway Stations. 

10. MEDIA CHANGEOVER

10.1.Provision of OFC channel has been done as standby media for SSDAC in CHA-DOA section.

10.2.Provision of U-Link panel in Rampuraphul-LehraMohabhat Block section has been done to provide media changeover facility from Quad Cable to OFC and vice versa for SSDAC Circuit to improve reliability.

10.3.Media changeover facility from OFC to Quad & vice cersa has been provided at Pilkhani by terminating the cable/channel on WAGO Terminals inn relay room for UFSBI.

10.4.Protection for PRI circuit between UMB-SRE Exchange connectivity has been provided by providing one E-1 from RCIL.

10.5.Protection for PUNCOM MUX in UMB-LDH, UMB-CDG-SNL, UMB-CDG-KLK has been provided by using LPC card for automatic changeover to protection E-1 in case of failure of OFC/Eqpt. In section. Also Protection for SCADA circuit in UMB-SRE section working on E-1 & COA in UMB-BTI section working on E-1 has been provided by hiring one E-1 each from RCIL.

10.6.Media redundancy has been provided for COA media from power cabin UMB to OFC room UMB i.e. One path on UMB-LDH M/L OFC and another on KSR OFC.

11.2.Provision of AT supply for 48V/25A Battery charger of OFC system has been made at Sanehwal, DhandariKalan, Gill, Kilaraipur, Ahmdgarh, Himmtana, Bahadursinghwala, Sunam, Chhajli, Gurney, Lehragaga, Barwala&JamalpurSheikhan OFC cable huts (13 Nos.).

11.3.48V/25A battery charger has been provided at OFC Hut Kiratpur Sahib, Sirhind Repeater Railway station replacing outlived battery charger.

11.4.ON/OFF status monitoring of 48 V Battery charger of OFC Eqpt. atDaunkalan station has been provided through potential free contact on Datalogger.

12.Earthing Improvement:

MF Earth electrodes have been provided at L-Xing No.52 B in Roopnagar-Bharatgarh, 52-C in Chhintanwala-Kaulseri, L-Xing 77CA, 82-C,83-C in SEQ-ALL &L-xing C-57, C-58, C-59 in KLSX-DUI,Bahadursinghwala, Sangrur, Dhulkot-Chandimandir & Kanoh-Shimla Block section, Ambala City& Khanna Railway station, Junction Box from GNTP to Abohar.

13.Insulation Improvement:

13.1.Insulation of Quad cable has been improved by opening cable joints at various locations in section and replacing defective cable. Details are given below.

13.2.For shifting the BPAC of DOA-SNL on newly laid cable by FZR division, 01 No. Normal Joint for 4Quad cable has been provided in SNL yard and station area.

14.MAINTENANCE EFFORTS TO REDUCE FAILURES/ IMPROVING RELIABILITY:

14.1.Painting of 138 Nos. EC socket poles & sockets have been done in LDH-DUI & DUI-RPJ section. Also painting of Directional poles in LDH-DUI section, Telecom DP at NBA, PTA & CGDB JN; boxes at PTA has been done.

14.2.7000 Mtrs. Defective D-8 Cable has been replaced in KLK-SML section for improving the reliability of Block circuit during current year.

14.3.To improve reliability of overhead alignment and to reduce failures of BSNL overhead alignment, pruning of trees has been done in 35 block sections and Broken insulators has been replaced in 05 Block section in Bathinda – Sriganganagar and Kalka-Shimla section.

15.Scrap Deposited in Store Depot

3230 Kg Ferrous, 4900 Kg miscellaneous Non- Ferrous scrap,150 kg Battery & 480 kg released cable in pieces scrap has been deposited at Dy.CMM/JUDW. OFC Van (3410 Kg) scrap deposited in Dy CMM/JUDW &Tavera Van (1610 Kg) scrap deposited in Dy CMM/JUDW Depot.

16.Extra Ordinary results in Passenger Amenities

16.1.Voice Recording & Modification in database of IPIS for auto announcement, Train Indication Boards, Coach Guidance Display, Plasma TV has been done for 6 Nos. Trains at Rajpura, Chandigarh, Kalka, SAS Nagar, Nangal Dam &Una Himachal Railway Stations for convenience of travelling public. 

16.2.Provision of announcement system for Face to face enquiry has been done at Patiala Railway stations by providing 01 No. amplifier, 02 Nos. microphones and 02 Nos. speakers for the convenience of passengers.

16.3.8 Port router provided for UTS circuit has been replaced at Ghanauli Railway station due to upgradation in protocol by CRIS.

16.4.260Mtrs. Screened PVC cable has been laid underground by platform cutting departmentally. Also 2 Nos. faulty horn type speakers at Bathinda, 04 nos. speakers at Ahmedgarh have been replaced & 01 No. additional speaker has been provided at Pilkhani Railway station along with replacement of 160 Watt Amplifier, new microphone at Ahmedgarh for convenience of Passengers.
