2.Continued Shortage of CLI: Only 01 CLI is available (Sanctioned strength-04), RSTC Shakurbasti trained 425 loco pilots last year or there are LPs and ALPs continuous training running on a regular basis, Currently NTPC training batch is going on.

3.Continued shortage of pointsmen:Only 1 pointsman is available against a sanctioned strength of 3. Given the situation, technical staff is deputed in place of pointsmen, reducing their availability for carrying out maintenance work.

4.1200 KW Hydrogen fuel cell-based DPRS DEMU plant is planned to be set up at Jind to ensure the smooth operation of hydrogen trainsets by providing hydrogen fueling.

Technical Points of Vande Bharat Trainset:-

a.  Vande Bharat Express Ver1.0 rakes do not have a provision for a 415V external supply. This absence complicates the maintenance schedule when the rake is in a discharge condition, making it challenging to check the functionality of equipment operating on the Aux. Converter unit, such as the RMPU and pantry items etc. ICF may be asked to explore the possibility & feasibility of provision of 415V external supply input for Ver.1.0 rakes.

b.    Vande Bharat Express battery capacity of Ver. 1.0 rakes is lower than that of the Ver. 2.0 rakes, which is 300 Ah as compared to 684Ah of Ver. 2.0 rakes. The Battery backup duration is about 35-45 minutes of Ver. 1.0 Rakes, which is proving insufficient and significantly impacting both maintenance activity and cleaning work. New battery procurement from existing RSP (Ver.1.0) sanctioned may be expedited.

c.   Urgently required 08 nos. MAC (main air compressor) M/s Faiveley version 2. From ICF.

d.  Letter (No. 25.2.T-18/6, dated 02.08.2024) has been sent to TRD/DLI requesting for the provision of audio and visual alarms in the DEMU inspection pits to enhance staff safety.

e.  Regarding supply the balance 03 set batteries against PL No:- 45170447 to TSD/SSB.

Spare material issues:-
