| NORTHERN RAILWAY ACHIEVES MAJOR INFRASTRUCTURE MILESTONE: LUCKNOW DIVISION SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETES CHALLENGING WORK IN HARAUNI-JAITIPUR SECTION | |

The project, which was a challenging task, represents a major leap forward in the region’s railway infrastructure development. Its completion paves the way for the immediate dismantling of two aging Down line bridges, which will be replaced by the construction of new, state-of-the-art bridges at the same locations. The execution of this complex infrastructure upgrade required meticulous planning and precise engineering. Key highlights of the operation include:
•Strategic Execution: The engineering teams successfully utilized an 8-hour traffic shadow block (from 11:00 hrs to 19:00 hrs) of Ganga Bridge No. 110. This approach ensured that the vital upgrades were completed with minimal disruption to the broader railway network.
•Major Track Diversion: The project involved a substantial diversion of the Down track spanning a length of 2.1 kilometers, safely routing traffic around two existing bridges.
•Precision Engineering: Seamless cut connection activities were successfully executed at both ends of the section to integrate the new alignment safely into the existing network.
•Rigorous Safety Standards: Prioritizing passenger safety and operational integrity, the Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) conducted a thorough inspection of the site on May 9, 2026, granting the necessary clearances for the final execution.
The successful completion of the Harauni-Jaitipur cut connection underscores Northern Railway’s ongoing commitment to modernizing India's rail network, prioritizing safety, and enhancing the overall travel experience for millions of passengers.
