| Senior Railway Officials inspect encroached sites and unauthorised construction on Railway Land at Oak Grove School Jharipani, Mussoorie | |
In wake of a recent incident and other such attempts in the past to encroach upon the Railway land in and around the Oak Grove School campus at Jharipani , Mussoorie,a team of senior officers from Northern Railway HQ Office and Moradabad Division conducted a comprehensive on-site inspection on 23.07.2026, to assess the situation and deliberated on measures required to safeguard and protect Railway property from such acts of encroachments, particularly from the stand point of concerns on the safety and security of large number of students from classes 3rd-12th in the residential setup of the Oak Grove School.
The inspection follows a recent incident in which unidentified persons illegally mounted pillars inside Railway land in an apparent attempt to demarcate the boundary of the property unlawfully. Acting upon an information, a joint team of the Railway administration and it's Protection Force (RPF) immediately reached the site and removed the unauthorized pillars, restoring the land to Railway possession. Legal recourse has also been sought in the matter, thereafter.
It was reiterated during the inspection that any encroachment or unauthorized construction on Railway land constitutes a punishable offence under the provisions of the Railway Act and the Railway administration will continue to take all actions, as necessary, in accordance with law, to free the Railway land from such encroachments and ensure protection of public property.
The inspection was conducted by senior officials from the offices of Northern Railway HQ and Divisional Railway Manager/ Moradabad, including Sh. Arvind Nautiyal, Sr. Dy. General Manager and the Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) ; Sh Sujit Kumar Mishra, Principal Chief Personnel Officer; Smt. Vinita Srivastava, DRM, Moradabad; Sh. Atul Kumar, Chief Engineer and Officers of the Railway Protection Force (RPF).
