| Delhi Division registers a remarkable growth of 6.71% in SLR Parcel Leasing. | |
Delhi Division of Northern Railway has achieved a significant milestone towards further strengthening parcel transportation services. In August 2025, 164 SLRs (Seating-cum-Luggage Rake) were operating on lease in the division, which has increased to 175 in August 2026. Thus, Delhi Division has registered a year-on-year growth of 6.71 percent in SLR parcel leasing.
This increase in the number of SLRs will lead to a significant expansion in parcel transportation capacity, providing traders, industries, and the general public with better facilities for faster, safer, and smoother transportation of their goods. This will boost time-bound parcel services and help meet the growing demand of customers more effectively.
This effort of Delhi Division is an important step towards making Indian Railways' freight and parcel transportation services more competitive and customer-centric. Additionally, the increase in SLR leasing is also expected to positively enhance the freight and parcel revenue of Indian Railways.
