In line with the provisions of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (PwBD) Act, 2016, Shri Rajesh Kumar Pandey, General Manager, Northern Railway distributed 123 Jyoti AI Smart Glasses distributed for Visually Impaired Northern Railway Employees at National Rail Museum, Chanakyapuri today. The initiative is aimed at enhancing accessibility, independence and efficiency for visually impaired employees in the discharge of their official duties.
On this occasion, Shri Rajesh Kumar Pandey, General Manager, Northern Railway, stated, "Today, a significant initiative is being undertaken by Northern Railway to provide smart glasses equipped with modern technology to visually impaired railway employees. on this occasion, a total of 123 visually impaired persons from this railway will benefit. In the first phase, smart glasses were distributed to 16 visually impaired employees at the headquarter. This will help employees work with greater ease and confidence at the workplace as well as in their daily lives."
The event was graced by Shri Harsh Khare, Additional General Manager/NR, Shri Sujit Kumar Mishra, Principal Chief Personnel Officer along with all PHODs and representatives of recognised Unions and Associations of Northern Railway.
During the event, visually impaired railway employees who have been provided with Jyoti AI Smart Glasses presented their firsthand accounts underscored the glasses' utility and effectiveness in enhancing their work experience.
The feedback received from the visually impaired railway employees was overwhelmingly positive.
