Northern Railway launches Vigilance Awareness Week
General Manager, Northern Railway administers Oath of Integrity to officials
The Vigilance Awareness Week for the year 2024 was launched by Northern Railway at its headquarters, Baroda House, New Delhi on 28.10.2024. The week is observed by all government bodies and seeks to spread awareness about the necessity of probity and uprightness. The theme of the week this year is ‘Culture of Integrity for Nation’s Prosperity. On the first day, the inaugural session featured Central Vigilance Commissioner Sh. P.K. Shrivastav as the special guest, alongside the Chairman & CEO of the Railway Board Sh. Satish Kumar, Board members, Directors General Railway Board, Vigilance officers from Railway Board and Northern railway, and Principal department heads from Northern Railway. The seminar included an audiovisual presentation highlighting key case studies and followed by unveiling of the Indian Railway Vigilance Chronicle and the NR Vigilance Bulletin.Oath of integrity was administered to all the Railway officials by General Manager, Northern Railway Shri Ashok Kumar Verma. The event featured a vibrant Nukkad Natak performance and an engaging poster exhibition.

DAY 2
Northern Railway organizes “Run for Unity” on the occasion of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas”
Today, Northern Railway organized “Run for Unity” on the occasion of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas to commemorate the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel. On this occasion, Shri Ashok Kumar Verma, General Manager, Northern Railway administered the “Unity Pledge” to the officers and staff of Northern Railway at State Entry Road New Delhi. Shri Sukhvinder Singh, Divisional Railway Manager, Delhi and Senior Officers and staff of Northern Railway and Delhi Division were also present.
March Past was also organized by the RPF Team. “Run for Unity” was flagged off by Shri Ashok Kumar Verma, General Manager, Northern Railway in which about 200 officers and staff of Northern Railway and Delhi Division participated enthusiastically by running across State Entry Road, Connaught Place Inner Circle and Back.

On the second day of Vigilance Awareness Week, a Vigilance meet was held at NR Headquarters by the NR Vigilance Department. All Vigilance Inspectors and Vigilance Officers gathered in the conference hall to discuss topics on the theme "Culture of Integrity for Nation’s Prosperity." During the meeting, vigilance Inspectors highlighted their case studies and shared insights into their experiences and the challenges they face in the field. Additionally, vigilance Inspectors were also assigned to conduct surveys at ANVT, DLI and NDLS stations, gathering feedback from passengers regarding corruption and malpractices in the Railways.

On the third day of Vigilance Awareness Week, the Northern Railway Vigilance Department organized a quiz competition on 30.10.2024 at 11:00 hrs. The quiz featured various rounds, with questions covering topics such as Railways, establishment rules, vigilance (D&AR), the Constitution, environmental issues, current affairs, audio-visual matters, and miscellaneous subjects. Nine teams from different railway departments participated in the event. Additionally, a debate competition on the theme "Culture of Integrity for Nation’s Prosperity" took place at 14:00 hrs on 30.10.2024, with participation from sixteen officials.
