Railway Protection Force Northern Railway – Committed For the Safety and Security of Passengers in co-ordination with GRP

          Railway is o­ne of the most important means of public transport. Being the capital of the country, Delhi witnesses large number of passengers coming to Delhi from all states. RPF/NR is committed to provide safety and security to the passengers in the co-ordination with GRP. For this purpose, most affected sections/stations have already been identified. Special teams of crime intelligence at the divisions and Headquarters level have been constituted to nab the criminals. Close watch is kept over anti-social elements with the help of CCTV. Coordination meetings with GRP/Civil Police are being done regularly. RPF and GRP have provided a 24X7 security Helpline No. 182 and 1512 respectively. Escort parties are being sensitized to keep vigilant eye o­n suspected persons while train is departing /arriving at stations. Staff is also deployed in plain clothes at the end of the platforms to keep an eye o­n miscreants committing crime at the time of departure/arrival of train. The train escort parties are briefed to ensure that the doors of the trains are properly locked/closed. Similarly, the train attendants at the originating station are briefed to ensure that doors of the coaches are locked/closed during journey.

By taking above steps number of theft cases have declined to 105 cases in year 2018 (upto April)  in comparison to 211 cases in the same corresponding period of year 2017.
