Today, Hon'ble Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture Smt. Meenakashi Lekhi flagged off

                   "Shri Ramayana Yatra" Bharat Gaurav Deluxe AC Tourist Train Train is being run under the "Dekho Apna Desh" initiative of the Government of India with the objective to showcase India's rich cultural heritage and magnificent historical places to the people of India and the world.

Due to popular demand, Railways decided to operate another specially designed tour "Shri Ramayana Yatra" Bharat Gaurav Deluxe AC Tourist Trainthe train will take through all prominent places linked to Lord Ram's life - Ayodhya, Nandigram,  Janakpur, Sitamarhi, Buxar, Varanasi, Prayagraj,Shringverpur, Chitrakoot, Nashik, Hampi, Rameshwaram, Bhadrachalam and Nagpur will be the major attraction in the tour itinerary. Hon’ble Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture Smt. Meenakashi Lekhi flagged off"Shri Ramayana Yatra" Bharat Gaurav Deluxe AC Tourist Train from Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station. Shri Sanjay Kumar Jain CMD, IRCTC, Shri Sukhvinder Singh Divisional Railway Manager, Delhi and Senior Officers of Northern Railway were also present o­n this occasion. Hon’ble Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture Smt. Meenakashi Lekhi also interacted with the passengers o­n board the train before its departure.

The train departed o­n its 18 nights/19 days tourtoday from Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station at 19:00 hours. Coupled with a modern state of the art AC rake, modern amenities, two dining restaurants, modern kitchen car, foot massager for tourists, mini library besides Security Guards, clean toilets and enhanced security features of CCTV Cameras etc.
