GENERAL MANAGER REVIEWS PERFORMANCE OF NORTHERN RAILWAY

Sh. Shobhan Chaudhuri, General Manager Northern Railway held a review meeting today with the departmental heads of Northern Railway and DRMs. The meeting, held at the Northern Railway headquarters in New Delhi, to assess the progress made in various areas such as punctuality, safety, passenger amenities, and infrastructure development. The focus of the meeting was to identify strengths, address challenges, and set targets for further improvement.

During the course of the meeting, Sh. Chaudhuri commended the dedicated efforts of railway staff in ensuring the smooth functioning of train operations at the peak of summer and providing quality service to passengers. Emphasis was placed o­n the need for enhanced safety measures, strict adherence to schedules, and customer-centric initiatives to meet the evolving needs of passengers.

Shri Chaudhuri emphasized o­n better crew management and optimum utilization of manpower. He instructed to maintain good record of punctuality of trains and expedites the works related with mobility enhancement and conducting drives to check the progress. He reviewed the work done over the zone in improving the maintenance standard of track, welds and removal of scrap lying near the tracks. 

He stressed upon the minimizing human failure in train operation. The pace for freight loading should also be maintained with consistency and new vistas should be explored to enhance business of the railway. He added that the initiatives and concessions offered by the Railways should reach the clients.
