Sh. Shobhan Chaudhuri, General Manager Northern Railways held a performance review meeting with the departmental heads of Northern Railway and DRMs. The meeting, which took place at Baroda House focused o­n enhancing safety protocols and passenger amenities at stations like extension of platforms, increase of level of platforms, washable aprons, provision of 2nd entry, foot over bridges, Escalators, lifts, Fans, Drinking water, Lightings, PA system, toilets for Divayangjans, improvement of station building including façade etc.

During the meeting, Sh. Chaudhuri emphasized the Northern Railway unwavering commitment to safety and highlighted the importance of continually reviewing and improving safety measures. The officers in attendance actively engaged in discussions o­n current safety procedures, potential risks, and promoting a culture of safety awareness.

Sh. Chaudhuri emphasized upon minimizing human failure in train operation. He directed all concerned that extensive monitoring of rail fractures and rail welds should be done o­n priority basis and no error should be left. He directed the departments to regularly conduct training and refresher courses for the staff to keep them motivated and informed of the working of the system to minimize human error.
