FIRST – AID FACILITIES AT STATIONS

 

New Delhi station has been provided with first aid facilities at both sides of the station and now a days special First aid counters are operating at PF-1 and PF-16 w.e.f June 25th

2011 in view of summer rush . In addition this facility is also available at Delhi Main , Hazart Nizamuddin , Anand Vihar and Delhi Sarai Rohilla Railway Stations.

 

These are operational in two shifts from 0600 hrs to 1400 hrs and 1400 hrs to 2200 hrs. Ambulance services are also available on call from Central Hospital , New Delhi Main Railway Hospital. CATS Ambulances are also available on call. For the information of people the available numbers are frequently advertised and these are reproduced here as : CATS Ambulance Numbers – 102 and 011 – 1099 , NRCH causality numbers are , 011-23744009, 011-23364227, 011-42671500, Delhi Main casualty number 011-23978379.

 

Further the availability of first aid services is announced on the stations on public address systemcontinuously.

In addition all Railway staff, coolies and catering staff/vendors have been instructed to help any person in need of help & report to CSM/Dy. SM or any Railway staff/Security personnel.

 

To arrest the incidents of drugging in trains and at Railway stations, RPF constituted a team under the supervision of Asstt, Security Commissio0ner RPF/New Delhi. This team analyzed all the incidents and identifiedthe affected stations & trains. The members of this team collected the information/intelligence from sources and worked in trains and at stations resulting in the arrest of 37 offenders against drugging in the year 2010. In the current year upto May 2011,11 offenders have been arrested. These offenders were handed over to GRP. In addition to this all the inspector in chargekeep launching drives against offender in their jurisdiction from time to time. Additionally passengers arealso educated through frequent announcements at stations and also by pasting stickers at stations as well as in trains.

 

In addition in view of extra rush during Summer period an additional special team was constituted which launched a special drive from 18.04.2011 against the drugging offenders. This team has till date detected 02 cases and apprehended 02 offenders.
