783 RAIL PASSENGERS NABBED FOR TRAVELLING ON TRANSFERRED TICKETS
The Anti fraud squad team consisting of Commercial, Vigilance & RPF personnel intensifiedits preventive checks at Reservation and Booking Offices at various locations and raids were conducted against touts and unauthorised travel agencies indulging in illegal business of sale of rail tickets and in trains to detect persons travelling on other’s names(tickets) during the Summer Rush period of April 2011 to June’ 2011.
The team during the periodapprehended 16 Unauthorised Travel Agencies, indulging in illegal business and recovered 157 tickets from them, 286 touts with 136 tickets were nabbed. 783 passengers were detected travelling on transferred tickets in trains. A sum of Rs. 4,52,329/- was realised as fine from the passengers travelling on transferred tickets.
