Northern Railway is dedicated to improve the passenger amenities both in trains and station premises. For this a cleanliness drive was launched at the new Delhi railway station at night of 14.07.2011 under theflagship ofMr. AshvaniLohani, Divisional Railway Manager/ Delhi Division.
The main objective of the drive was to clean allthe platform 1 to 16 of the New Delhi Railway Station, the tracks, drains, waiting rooms concourse area and the Booking halls. To achieve this objective a team of 100 dedicated Safaiwalas, 15 Supervisors and 5 Officers were deployed. Jet cleaning machines and other equipments were used for 7 hours (23.00Hrs to 6.00 Hrs) for achieving this high quality of cleanliness.
