ACTION PLAN FOR POOJA/WINTER/CHRISTMAS RUSH 2011

 

 

Northern Railway is gearing up to tackle the Pooja/Winter/Christmas rush.Various arrangements are being made to check the malpractices to ensure smoothfunctioning of Reservation and Booking offices. Senior railway officers and staff have been deputed to watch the activities of the staff at the counters and surveillance cameras would be used to detect persons frequently coming to ticketcounters for reservation/cancellation.

 

As per the directions of GM, Northern Railway would depute staff outside the reservation counters at all locations to look into the activities of the staff at the counters, that they are properly manned, adequate requisition would be made availableand supervisors would counter-sign the requisition forms after ensuring complete filling up of the forms especially the address before it is submitted to the reservation clerk. The deputed staff would have to report to the reservation offices at 7.30 a.m on all days including Sundays & Holidays during the busy period. Additional counters for reservation wherever necessary would be opened at the locations.

 

TheCommercial/ Vigilance Inspectors and RPF/Police staff would be deputedat reservation offices tokeep surveillanceand to curb the activitiesoftouts, unauthorised travel agencies and anti social elements and to organize special checks to detect various frauds including travel on transferred tickets.

 

Frequent announcements with regard to special trains, augmentation would be made at the stations. It would be ensured that passenger amenities such as adequate drinking water, proper up keep of waiting halls/rooms, lightened signage’s wouldbe made available.
