Northern Railway has made all out efforts to improve the quality of catering services and availability of Janta Khana at the stations. With the result the sale of Janta Khana has shown remarkable increase . The sale has increased from 11,000 meal packets to 17,000 packets in August 2011 as compare to July 2011 there by showing an increase of 59%. In addition,due to strict monitoring at the level of General Manager, Northern Railway himself regular checks on the trains and stations by officers, overall catering related passenger complaints have also shown a declining trend as average complaints per month which were 69 from April to July have declined to 21 in August i.e. decline of almost 66%. Northern Railway is committed to continue its efforts to provide quality catering services to passengers both on board and at stations.
