SWAMI SHANTATMANANDA JI & SH. B.P. GUPTA CUTS RIBBON OF

VIVEKANANDA EXPRESS EXHIBITION TRAIN TO OPEN THE EXHIBITION FOR THE PUBLIC AT DELHI CANTT. STATION.

 

Swami Shantatmanandaji Secy. Ramakrishna Mission, New Delhi and Shri B.P. Gupta, Addl. General Manager, Northern Railway, today cut the ribbon of the exhibition train ‘Vivekananda Express’ with austerity at Delhi Cantt. Station.

 

This exhibition train ‘Vivekananda Express’ was flagged off from Howrah o­n 12th January, 2011 to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.The train consists of ICF Shatabdi type express coaches in which photographs and other exhibits o­n the life and achievements of him are o­n display.These include rare photographs and archival material.

 

Swami Vivkananda was the chief disciple of Ramkrishna Paramhansa and was the founder of Ramkrishna Math & Mission.Born o­n 12th January, 1863, he is considered to be responsible for introduction of Hindu Philosophy of Vedanta and Yoga to the Western World.Heintroduced Hinduism at the Parliament of the world.Religious at Chicago in 1893 speaking o­n the occasion Swaminji said that Swami Vivekananda spoke at length at the Chicago summit and the fellowmen & the Americans were very impressed by his thoughts, speech and its duration.Sh. Gupta talked about his messages andteaching about mankind.Swami Vivekanand died o­n 4th July, 1902 at the age of 39 years, leaving behind a rich legacy of spiritualism and bhakti.

 

Railways have made all efforts to showcase and educate the general public specially the youth living in far off areas about the great spiritual leader.The train will be in Northern Railway from the 7th of October, 2011 to the Ist January, 2012 and will be exhibited o­n 18 stations o­n Northern Railway in this period as per the itinerary detail below:

Present o­n the occasion were Sh.. Ashwani Lohani, Divisional Railway Manager, Delhi, Shri S.P. Mahi, Addl. Divl. Railway Manager, Delhi and other senior officers and some of the senior disciples and devotees.

The entry to this exhibition train is free and will be open to the public from 10:00a.m. to 06:00 p.m. The exhibition train will be available o­n Platform No.-4 at Delhi Cantt. Railway Station for four days i.e. till 10.10.11.

It will be criss-crossing the country till 13th January,2012.
