“VIVEKANANDA EXPRESS” EXHIBITION TRAIN TODAY AT PATEL NAGAR STATION FOR 4DAYS

 

 

On 7th October 2011, the ‘Vivekananda Express’ exhibition train was received at Delhi Cantt. station for Northern Railwayand the exhibition was opened by Swami Shantatmanandaji Secy. Ramakrishna Mission, New Delhi and Shri B.P. Gupta, Addl. General Manager by cutting the ribbon. This exhibition train ‘Vivekananda Express’ was flagged off from Howrah o­n 12th January, 2011 to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.The Vivekananda Express exhibition train throws light o­n the life and achievements of Swami Vivekananda .The train consists of ICF Shatabdi type express coaches in which photographs and other exhibits o­n the life and achievements of him are o­n display.These include rare photographs and archival material. Vivekananda’s signatures and some of his sayings are also o­n show.

 

Swami Vivkananda was the chief disciple of Ramkrishna Paramhansa and was the founder of Ramkrishna Math & Mission.Born o­n 12th January, 1863, he is considered to be responsible for introduction of Hindu Philosophy of Vedanta and Yoga to the Western World.He introduced Hinduism at the Parliament of the world.Religious at Chicago in 1893 speaking o­n the occasion Swaminji said that Swami Vivekananda spoke at length at the Chicago summit and the fellowmen & the Americans were very impressed by his thoughts, speech and its duration.Sh. Gupta talked about his messages and teaching about mankind.Swami Vivekanand died o­n 4th July, 1902 at the age of 39 years, leaving behind a rich legacy of spiritualism and bhakti.

 

Railways have made all efforts to showcase and educate the general public specially the youth about the great spiritual leader.The exhibition train willnow be at Patel Nagarstation from 11.10.11 to 14.10 .11for the public of that area to view the same. Then o­n 15.10.11 it will move to Pragati Maidan station for 4 days.
