Railway provides additional modes of enquiry for train related information during foggy weather

For the convenience of rail passengers, the Railway has been continually devising new measures to provide train related information. As a mode of providing additional facility to rail passengers, the Railway has launched a dedicated web portal for trains affected by fog on www.trainenquiry.com.Passengers can know about the delayed trains and also check if any train has been cancelled/rescheduled (for any reasons) on the same page. The site is updated every few minutes with information from Railways’ backend systems that support train operations. The web site of Northern Railway also provides a hyperlink to this portal( www.trainenquiry.com)

Apart from Phone & SMS from telephone No. 139 , Northern Railway has also strengthened train enquiry system during foggy weather through additional Manual Telephone Enquiry service during foggy weather on MTNL telephone no. 011-23747110. Also, an additional telephone no. has been started for SMS based Train Enquiry system for New Delhi, Delhi Jn., Hazrat Nizamuddin, Anand Vihar Terminal and Delhi Serai Rohilla stations in connection with arrival/departure of trains during foggy season. In this system passengers can SMS the 5 digit train no. to mobile no. 9717631813, the expected arrival/departure of train from Delhi area stations will be SMS back to the passenger by the system automatically after a few seconds. For example if passenger wants to know the status of arrival/departure of Train no. 12951 simply write in SMS 12951 and send to the mobile no. 9717631813.

Passengers are advised to enquire about arrival/ departure of trains before leaving for the stations during the fog period so that they are least inconvenienced.
