Senior Divisional Operations Manager/Co-ordination

Overall Operations which includes- Overall Freight & Coaching operations, meeting loading and earning targets, bringing new commodities in freight basket to increase revenue alongwith Punctuality of Coaching trains and action thereon, co-ordination with Neighbouring Division/Zones and HQ/Railway Board.

Apart from this, Branch Officer is also responsible for Staff management, Staff selection, work distribution to Officers & Field Supervisors, Planning of Infrastructural & Traffic facility works & other safety related works.

Junior Administrative Grade & Selection Grade

Senior Divisional Operations Manager/PM

Monitoring the punctuality of all Mail Express, passenger trains over DLI Division. Oversee time tabling issues for speeding up of trains & improving mobility as well as introduction of new trains. Rationalisation of Rake links.

Minimising ECR movements as well reducing movements of unscheduled locomotives. VIP references, Parliament Questions, disposal of pending issues in Rail Madam & CPGRAM.

Planning of Coaching trains handling during Mega Blocks, Non Interlocked working.

Issuance of Station Working rules & Correction slips thereon.

All safety related works i.e. launching safety drives, safety seminars, safety circular, counseling of staff on safe train operation etc.

Divisional Operations Manager (Freight & Coaching Wing)

Operations on day to day basis this includes- Freight & Coaching operations. 

In Freight wing, Interchange planning and analysis, Release of Stock, Terminal and Yard management, Planning for maintenance, Balancing of Stock, Locomotives and Crews etc.

In Coaching Wing, Monitoring the punctuality of all Mail Express, passenger trains over DLI Division & Planning of Coaching trains handling during Mega Blocks, Non Interlocked working.

In Freight wing, Interchange planning and analysis, Release of Stock, Terminal and Yard management, Planning for maintenance, Balancing of Stock, Locomotives and Crews etc.

Chief Controller (Coaching & Freight)

Train Control:

Supervising & regulating movement of trains from station to station on the section to avoid delay to trains and to maximize utilisation of the capacity of the section by: -

Monitoring movement of trains from station to station and recording paths and detention on COA.

Arranging crossing and precedence of trains judiciously.

Arranging working of departmental and material trains.

Fulfilling interchange commitment.

Arranging proper movement of assisting/banking /light engines.

Clearance of sick wagons from Roadside stations.

Arrangement of relief for 10 hrs duty staff.

Incident management on rail network & at station.

Arranging Engineering and/or power blocks in such a way as to involve minimum disturbance to train running.

Maintaining fluidity of yards by controlling the flow of stock in and out of yard.

Arranging Speedy relief in case of accidents.

SM, SS (Working & Supervisory)

Station Master is responsible for the efficient discharge of duties by different members of staff at his Station.

Ensuring that the general working of the station is being carried out in strict accordance with the current rules, procedures and instructions

He shall be responsible for keeping the safety and operating literature including circulars, pamphlets, gazette etc. up to date and these must be explained to the staff working under him and got noted by them.

He shall investigate all public complaints and send the extracts of the complaint with explanation of the staff and his own remarks to Divisional Office in time.

He shall promptly attend all accidents, assume charge of the site to and assist in relief measures ensuring prompt evacuation of injured & stranded passengers.

TIs

Inspect the stations / sections in a sensitive manner.

Conduct D& AR enquiry.

Manage the staff in his jurisdiction.

Supervise and counsel the operating staff to work as per rule.

Highlight the grievances / operational problems to higher officials.

Maintain and update the data’s and records of stations under his jurisdiction.
