Signal & Telecommunication



  • A training centre for divisional signal maintainers has been developed at Sultanpur in which single line working with BPAC with CLS, point operation, Technical parameter of signaling equipments, Repairing of Track feed charger, magneto telephone & regulating resistance, testing of current regulator & LED, Card testing of Axle counter & BPAC can be done.
  • Kurebhar (KBE) & Piparpur (PPU) stations which were previously equipped with semaphore signaling, now has been commissioned with MACLS.
  • The work of Electronic Interlocking has been commissioned at Sultanpur & Kanpur Bridge station.
  • Doubling work has been commissioned from Lanbhua to Sultanpur & Bhadohi to Suriyawan.
  • The work of panel interlocking with MACLS has been commissioned at Arkha (ARKHA) station during the year.
  • 01 nos. of Level crossing gate no. 26AC connected with Trilochan Mahadeo which were previously non-interlocked, have been interlocked.
  • To improve the reliability of Level Crossing gates, 04 nos. of Sliding booms have been provided during the year.
  • To improve the reliability of Level crossing gates, 07 nos. of Electric Lifting barriers has been commissioned 31C & 32C at Bhadohi, 36C & 37C at Mondh, 41C & 42C at Suriyawan and 3C at Manak Nagar.
  • 04 nos. of complete level crossing gates assemblies have been replaced with new during the year. This will improve the reliability of level crossing gates.
  • Set of 55 batteries of IPS has been replaced at 06 stations. This will improve the reliability of power supply backup.
  • 11 nos. of new Data Loggers (HRN/02, AJ/02, SIC/02, MKG/03, AMS/02) has been provided in LKO-CNB section during the year.
  • 05 nos. of Earth Leakage Detector (ELD) has been provided in the division during the year.
  • 66 nos. of ‘C’ class Surge Protection Device (SPD) has been provided in the division during the year.
  • 100 nos. of maintenance free Earth has been provided in the division during the year.
  • Fuse Alarm System has been provided at Sri Krishna Nagar station during the month. This will help to the signal maintainer.
  • All the Warning boards, Calling On message boards and signal number plates has been provided in BSB-ZBD-SLN section during the year.
  • All the shunt signals in BSB yard has been provided with white roundals.
  • Painting of all signaling gears has been completed in BSB-ZBD-SLN section.
  • 02 nos. of EI from BSNL for protection between Test room/LKO to Kanpur over Area control board and Test room Lucknow to Unnao over ARC control board commissioned.
  • Barabanki (BBK) – Kanpur Bridge (CBP) PDH Link got replaced by SDH.
  • 26 no. of stations provided with Lightening and Surge Protection devices.
  • 37 no. of stations provided with Earthing for telecom equipments.
  • Short Code “1322/182” security helpline got successfully implemented across Northern Railway Lucknow Division through various telecom service providers.
  • Short Code “138” Passenger helpline got successfully implemented across Northern Railway Lucknow Division through various telecom service providers.
  • Biometric attendance system got installed and successfully implemented at Varanasi station for monitoring of cleanliness staff attendance.
  • CCTV cameras successfully installed at Varanasi station for monitoring of cleanliness.
  • Divisional centralized NMS got fully functional for the monitoring of the optical link (SDH Equipment) across the division.
  • AMC/ARC of data communication equipments of UTS & V-SAT has been done at divisional level.
  • Achieved more than 25,000 no. of IP’s from previous 125 no. of IP’s by using the sub-netting technique over the Railnet network at divisional headquarter got implemented.
  • Achieved 99.99% of Control Circuit Efficiency.
