Engineering
1. General: - Delhi Division has 1478.30 route kilometers having the busiest routes of Indian Railway. The Division falls in the jurisdiction of union territory of Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and Utter Pradesh states serving civil districts of Delhi (NCT State). It is spread over 20 Districts i.e Ghaziabad, Meerut, Muzaffar Nagar, Saharanpur, Baghpat, Faridabad, Palwal, Sonipat, Panipat, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Ambala, Gurgaon, Rewari, Jhajjar, Rohtak, Jind, Fatehabad, Mansa and Bhatinda.
- NDLS, DLI, HNZM, DEE & ANVT are the main station having the direct trains to the whole country.
- There are quadruplet lines between NDLS – TKJ – HNZM – TKD – JNC & SBB – GZB and triplate line facilities between JNC – PWL & GZB – CYZ.
- New Delhi being the central hub is connected to the rest of the country.

2. Organization: (i) Gazetted - Sr. Divisional Engineer (Co-ordination) heads the Engineering Organization and is assisted by five JA Grade Officers i.e. Sr.DEN/E, Sr.DEN/I, Sr.DEN/II, Sr.DEN/III, Sr. DEN-IV, Sr.DEN/V& Sr. DEN/Works, four Senior Scale Officers viz.DEN/TRACK, DEN/P&D & DEN/Land, DEN/G. The estate wing under Sr.DEN/ESTATE is assisted by three Senior Scale Officer viz. DEN/E-I, DEN/E-II, DEN-III and seven Junior Scale Officers viz. ADEN/E-I, ADEN/E-II, ADEN/E-III, ADEN/E-IV, ADEN/E-V, ADEN/E-VI & ADEN/ Hort.
- There are thirteen subdivision maintaining track and buildings and six subdivisions that look after residential buildings and offices in Delhi area. In addition, there is one Horticulture subdivision that looks after horticulture in Delhi area. DEN/Track looks after USFD, divisional Track and Ballast depots.

Achievements of Engineering Department 1. Achievements: - (1) 1200 Nos. GPS has been provided to Keymen & Petrol man for online monitoring of their movement during duty hours. 
(2) Rest shelter cum tool rooms for trackman has been constructed at Julana (JNA) & Sampla (SPZ)station. 
(3) Total-118 Thick Web Switches has been provided in place of over riding switches to enhance safety (since 15/07/18). 3 Nos. Thick Web switches has been provided in Single Block of 03:00 hrs on “A” Route in Tilak Bridge Yard on 14th Mar’19. 
(4) Deep screening of Turnout has been done on ‘Narwana-Kurukshetra’ section by using of Hydra Crane on first time in DLI division.

(5) Total 05 Nos. Super structure received for replacement of Scissor Crossover (Wooden sleepers) on main line. 04 Scissor Crossover (DLI-1, NDLS-2 & GZB-1) has been replaced with PSC sleepers & Rest 01 Scissor Crossover will be replaced in Mar’19 at NDLS Yard. 
(6) First time in Northern Railway Largest & longest (5mx5mx11m) single RCC box of weight 363 MT by Air Pushing with cut & cover technique without thrust bed & reliving girder on 17.03.2019 at LC No. C-24 on Jind-Panipat section by Open line. 
(7) A new all time Historic record has been created & an unprecedented feat has been achieved by Delhi division in Indian Railway on dt. 16.3.19 by inserting 11nos. LHS (Subways) of RCC boxes, spread over 90 km length in an open line section, in a single mega-block of just 08:00 hrs in DLI-SMQL-TPZ section. Thus, the LHS works which would have consumed 88 hours of blocks over 11 days in normal circumstances were completed in just 08:00 hours block on 16.3.19 ie a saving of 80hrs of block time. 
(8) GEN. (Dr.) V. K. SINGH Laying of Foundation Stone of High level platform on MURADNAGAR station on 09.02.2019. 
(9) GEN. (Dr.) V.K SINGH Laying of Foundation Stone of IIIrd Footover Bridge at GHAZIABAD station for on 09.02.2019. 
(10) Implementation of “RAKSHAK” Safety device in GZB-SRE section, which is 1st in Northern Railway and 2nd in Indian Railway.
