Key Railway Developments Achieved in February-2025


The year 2025 witnessed significant advancements in railway infrastructure and operations, enhancing efficiency, safety, and speed across multiple sections. Here’s a glimpse of the major milestones:

● CGT Notification & Opening (03.02.2025): The much-awaited CGT facility at DLP was officially notified and opened, marking another step towards improved railway services.

● EI Commissioning (07.02.2025): Electronic Interlocking (EI) was successfully commissioned at DN, ensuring smoother and more efficient train operations.

● Speed Upgrade (17.02.2025): The speed on the first loop line in the BLM (Excl.) – ON (Excl.) section was raised from 15 KMPH to 30 KMPH, improving movement efficiency.

● Yard Remodelling & Additional Loop Line (19.02.2025): A major yard remodelling project was completed at BLM, along with the commissioning of an additional loop line and EI system, ensuring better track utilization.

● Double Distant Signal (19.02.2025): A Double Distant Signal was commissioned at BLM, strengthening safety and signaling precision.

● Speed Enhancement (21.02.2025): Train speeds in the MB (Excl.) – CH (Excl.) sections were upgraded from 100 KMPH to 110 KMPH, facilitating faster train movements.

These achievements signify a transformative year for railway operations, setting new benchmarks in efficiency, speed, and safety. The journey towards modernization continues!

Station Operation Rules:

Between February 1, 2025, and February 28, 2025, the following revised documents were issued:

● Correction Slip Issued for 04 stations: Pilkhua(PKW), Aonla(AO), Baghauli(BGH), Dilawarnagar(DIL).

● Revised Station Working Rules for 2 stations: Doiwala (DWO), Dehradun (DDN).

● New Station Working Rules for 2 stations: Dhanari (DN), Balamau (BLM).

● New Automatic Station Working Rules for 2 stations: Dasna (DS), Mahrauli (MFH).




Shunting Mela Organization:-

In February 2025,a safety seminar/shunting mela was organized by the Divisional Operating Safety Team at BRYS (Bareilly Cantt.) Station on 21.02.2025, with the participation of 27 employees under the valuable guidance of Sr.DOM/G.During these seminars, participants were counselled on a wide range of safety norms aimed at enhancing awareness and operational safety. Key points covered during the sessions included:

Key Highlights:

● Shunting Rules and Precautions: Emphasis on safe shunting practices.

● Detonators and Protection Rules: Guidelines for proper handling and use.

● Rules for Load Stabling: Instructions to ensure load stability.

● Action for Safe Movement During Gate Breakage: Protocols to manage broken gates safely.

● Exchange of All-Right Signals: Identifying and addressing dangerous vehicles and hot axles.

● Duties of Station Master (SM) During SPAD: Responsibilities and actions during SPAD incidents.4

● Precautions During Power and Traffic Blocks: Measures to ensure safety during operational blocks.

● Normal and Abnormal Working of Non-Interlocked Level Crossing Gates: Procedures for handling different situations.

● Normal and Abnormal Working on Panel/VDU: Operational practices for varying conditions.

● Precautions During Non-Signal Movements: Ensuring safety in non-signal scenarios.

● Discussion on Previous Accident Cases: Lessons learned from past incidents.

● Alertness During Disconnection/Reconnection and Relay Room Operations: Adherence to the new Joint Procedure 

   Order (JPO).

● Precautions During Foggy Weather: Safety measures for low-visibility conditions.

● Practical Demonstrations: Included sliding boom operation, detonator clamping and padlocking, firefighting    

    techniques, and OHE isolator operation.


The sessions collectively trained 81 employees, significantly enhancing their safety knowledge, operational alertness, and preparedness for handling critical situations.
