Mechanical C&W Branch is headed by Sr.DME/C&W and assisted by DME/C&W at FZR. To assist at depot level one AME at SVDK/JAT & one AME at ASR are posted to look after day-to-day work.
Duty List of officers
A.Sr.DME/C&W/FZR
·Overall management & Supervision of matters pertaining to operation and maintenance of coaching and Freight stock of Mechanical Wing.
·Railway Board and HQrs Policy - Instructions and Implementations
·Contract Management and implementation of outsourced activities.
·Coordination on Works matter and Infrastructure Planning for field depots in Vol-II, Vol-V and DRM Lumpsum powers
·Manpower Management (Promotion, Transfer & Posting) + Trade test as per SOP
·Monthly PCDO & Narrative Report
·Exercising financial powers for procurement of vital items (Stock/N.S. Items) for smooth operation within SOP Limits
·Dealing of D&AR cases as per SOP
·Disaster Management
·Filling up of ACRs of concerned staff
B.DME/FZR
·Maintenance of trains. Daily Coach & Freight maintenance activities in field units. To look after the C&W activities of FZR Depot.Supervision of matters pertaining to operation and maintenance of coaching and Freight stock at field level.
·To look after court cases, RTI cases, vehicle hiring cases
·To attend derailments, accident in concerning beat.
·Monitoring of various contracts pertaining to C&W running in the Depot. Contract execution for various outsourced works at field levels
·Policy, Instructions executions at field unit. To give reply of all concerned correspondence of the Depot concerned with Division/HQrs., Firms, etc.
·Trade test as per SOP
·Dealing of D&AR cases as per SOP
·To assist Sr. DME (C&W) regarding Works Programme, M&P Programme & RSP Programme related with C&W.
·Submission of monthly statements, narrative, PCDO, etc. of concerned Depots.
·Filling up of ACRs of concerned staff of FZR..
·Maintenance and operation of Break Down Equipments & Restoration, relief and Rescue Work
·Submission of monthly statements, narrative, PCDO, etc. of concerned Depots.
·Controlling of Mechanical Branch in Divisional Office/FZR
·All other duties assigned by Sr.DME/C&W
C.ADME/C&W/JAT
·Maintenance of trains. Daily Coach & Freight maintenance activities in field units
·Maintenance of Narrow-Gauge stock
·To look after the C&W activities of JAT & PTK Depot. Supervision of matters pertaining to operation and maintenance of coaching and Freight stock at field level.
·To attend derailments, accident in concerning beat.
·Monitoring of various contracts pertaining to C&W running in the Depots. Contract execution for various outsourced works at field levels
·Policy, Instructions executions at field unit. To give reply of all concerned correspondence of the Depot concerned with Division/HQrs., Firms, etc.
·Trade test as per SOP
