Sr. DEE/OP/MB is the overall Incharge for Crew Management (Loco Pilots, Asst. Loco Pilots & Loco Pilot Shunters) and responsible for the technical matters connected with the operation of Electric/Diesel locomotives over the MB division. His duties are as under:-
1) Close co-ordination with control for safe, smooth and punctual train operations.
2) Operation of MEMU trains.
3) Arrange proper crew balancing time to time amongst different lobbies of MB division.
4) Management of crew lobbies, running rooms and RDIs over MB division.
5) Maintain close liaison with operating department officials to ensure maximum utilization of locos and crew over the
division.
6) Prompt and careful investigation of electric loco failures and appropriate remedial action if the failure is
attributable to lapses of running staff.
7) Maintain close liaison with IOCL and HQ to ensure availability of HSD oil at various RDIs over the division to avoid
holding of Diesel operation and also regular surveys and inspections of RDIs.
8) Conduct footplate inspections of coaching and freight trains to pay attention to punctuality of trains, observance of safety rules & speed restriction by loco pilots and other operating staff, correct observance of the prescribed rules by loco pilots, any abnormalities regarding loco, signals and in section.
9) Conduct regular surveys and surprise inspection of lobbies to pay attention the work of lobby.
10) Conduct surprise inspection of running rooms to ensure comfortable stay of running staff.
11) Train and examine for competency of running staff.
12) Budgetary expenditure and control, especially, in regard to DSL operation and Electric operation.
13) Proper monitoring as well as execution of all the contract cases.
14) Compile prescribed statistical data on performance and utilization andtimely submission to HQ office.
15) Supervise restoration work personally or through DEE(OP) & ADEE(OP) when electric/diesel loco or
crew involved in accidents and arranging representation of Electrical department at joint enquiries.
16) Issue of trouble shooting instructions required for the guidance and education of running staff.
17) Close Monitoring of CLI work and responsibility.
Duty List of DEE/OP/MB and ADEE/OP/MB
The duties of DEE/OP and ADEE/OP are similar to those for the Sr. DEE/OP in respect of all works under his direct charge. They shall work directly under the control of Sr. DEE/OP.
Crew management and Railway Diesel Installation are the core activities which are run with the help of supervisory staff consisting of CLIs, CTC, CCC, TC, CC and COS.
